What is YouFoodz?

What is the Velocity Frequent Flyer programme?
Velocity is Virgin Australia’s frequent flyer program. The program allows you to earn points on spend at various shops that can then be used on purchasing flight tickets.
The Velocity program is completely free to join and you can earn points from various partners such as Coles, Ola, Optus, Menulog and many more. There are absolutely no downsides of having a Velocity account, which could eventually save you a lot of money on a flight (or an upgrade).

How many points can I earn with YouFoodz?
Points are earned at a rate of 1 point = $1. With the minimum spend being $49, that would earn you 49 Velocity points. You do not earn any points on delivery fees.
YouFoodz is currently offering a 1000 point bonus on your first points-earning purchase, available for existing customers as well. That’s a huge bonus and the equivalent of spending $1000 on YouFoodz food.
If we take an example of a regular offer, you’ll see MEAL-DEAL which gets you 9 meals for $69. Buying this every week for a year would give you a total spend of $3,588 and therefore earning 3588 points plus the 1000 bonus.

How much this is worth in monetary terms is really difficult to calculate. According to Point Hacks, you could reasonably expect a value of 2 cents per point on flight redemptions. Any redemptions on hotels or car hire tend to be much lower value.
At 2 cents of value, your 4588 points are worth a cash value of $91.76. Based on your original spend, this is effectively a cashback rate of 2.5%.
Is it worth adding my Velocity number to YouFoodz?
There are two important factors to consider when earning Velocity points with YouFoodz:
- You can earn points on all your ongoing spend.
- You can earn points alongside existing discount codes.
This means that your Velocity points are an added bonus on top of purchases you would have made already. There is absolutely no reason you wouldn’t want to collect Velocity points with YouFoodz.
