A ketogenic diet focusses on a low-carb, high-fat diet that aims to keep the body in a permanent state of ketosis. In ketosis, the body chooses to burn fat instead of sugars for energy, resulting in a net weight loss.

Why I Recommend Be Fit Food for Ketogenic Diets
There are two problems with most delivery services that make them unsuitable for ketogenic diets. The first is the range of meal options available, with most services only having 3-5 low-carb meals on their menu. That means you’ll be getting bored very quickly.
Be Fit Food have at least 15 meals under 20g of Carbs on their menu, giving you enough range that will help you stick to a ketogenic diet.
The other problem is often the taste of the meals. There are a few specialist keto providers (like A Life Plus) in Australia but I wouldn’t recommend their meals to anyone. When you’re paying >$10 per meal, you need them to at least be enjoyable.
Be Fit Food’s meals aren’t perfect, but they are the best low-carb meals I’ve tried. You’ll be able to enjoy mealtimes, which is particularly important as Be Fit Food provide breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Purchasing one of Be Fit Food’s full programs isn’t cheap, but it will be incredibly effective at weight loss by quickly forcing your body into ketosis.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Good variety of ketogenic meals.
- Great flavour from enjoyable dinners.
- Full weight-loss service and community.
Cons
- Some meals can end up being quite watery.
- Premium price for very small portions.
Best Meal Kit – Marley Spoon
There aren’t any specialist ketogenic meal kits in Australia, so I’m recommending the meal kit with the best selection of low-carb meals. That’s meals with less than 25g of carbs per serve.
- Service Type: Meal Kit
- Price Range: $8.49 – $12.59 per meal.
- Delivery Areas: All Across Australia

Why I Recommend Marley Spoon for Ketogenic Diets
If you’re looking for a meal kit that follows a very strict keto diet, your options are effectively none in Australia. The closest option available is by subscribing to receive Marley Spoon’s low-carb meals.
Whilst different meal kits have varying definitions of “low-carb”, Marley Spoon manage to keep their meals down to under ~25g of carbs. Each week, there are a minimum of 4 meals available that meet the low-carb criteria.
The significant advantage of meal kits is that you can fully control all the ingredients put into your meal. Consider choosing meals with carb content between 25g – 35g and simply reducing the amount of carb-heavy ingredients when cooking.
So, whilst Marley Spoon isn’t the perfect ketogenic meal kit, you can easily adjust their service to meet your low-carb needs.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Impressive meal variety.
- Easy to manage / pause subscription.
- Great ingredient quality.
Cons
- Limited amount of “low-carb” meals.
- Marley Spoon are a premium meal kit.

Best Tasting Meals – ChefGood
Back to prepared meals, I love recommending Chefgood for their clean and healthy meals. There’s an interesting low-carb range with meals containing <18g of carbohydrates.
- Service Type: Prepared Meals
- Price Range: $9.95 – $11.90 per meal.
- Delivery Areas: Major metro areas.

Why I Recommend ChefGood for Ketogenic Diets
ChefGood have perfected the art of preparing meals so they are plated perfectly after a few minutes in the microwave. They back this up by using fresh, high-quality ingredients to deliver a great meal delivery experience.
They didn’t take the top recommended spot on this list as their ketogenic (low carb) range is slightly limited, with 8 meals available at the time of writing. So, you might get bored if you’re on a strict keto diet.
I rated ChefGood an exceptional 9.5 for Quality and 9 for Taste. Few services have impressed me like ChefGood with how enjoyable their meals are. It’s definitely worth considering a ChefGood subscription.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Consistently tasty, well-cooked meals.
- High-quality ingredients.
- Additional sides, drinks and breakfast meals.
Cons
- Only 8 low carb meals in the range.
- Website can be a bit tricky to navigate.
- Limited delivery areas.
Best On A Budget – YouFoodz
Meal delivery services can quickly get expensive. YouFoodz is the best value prepared meals service in Australia, which is perfect for anyone on a limited budget.
- Service Type: Prepared Meals
- Price Range: $9.95 – $10.95
- Delivery Areas: Australia-Wide

Why I Recommend YouFoodz for Ketogenic Diets
Like ChefGood, you’ll find a range of 8 low-carb meals available on YouFoodz at any time. However, these aren’t perfect for a ketogenic diet as they are only listed as being under 30g of carbs.
Realistically, 30g of carbs is going to be too much for a strict ketogenic diet. Therefore, YouFoodz is only suitable for people dieting who only wish to enter mild ketosis.
Considering you can get YouFoodz meal prices down to <$7.00 using discounts, they are a great way for anyone on a budget to grab some low calorie meals.
Do the meals taste good? Well, I have always found YouFoodz enjoyable. You likely won’t love every meal, but they’re all perfectly enjoyable.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Incredible value for money.
- Reasonable range of low carb meals.
- Simple, easy to use website.
Cons
- Low carb meals counted as anything under 30g of carbs.
- Heavy reliance on chicken-based meals.
Best High Protein Meals – My Muscle Chef
Just because you’re on a ketogenic-style diet, doesn’t mean you want to compromise on consuming protein that supports the rebuilding of muscle fibres. My Muscle Chef will help you access low-carb meals that are still high in protein.

Why I Recommend My Muscle Chef for Ketogenic Diets
My Muscle Chef are the highest rated prepared meals service on Food Box Mate, scoring 9 out of 10. They’ve consistently impressed me with the taste of their meals, their service and their menu.
Their menu has a great filter, allowing you to see meals with <20g of carbohydrates.
At the time of writing, just 6 meals qualify for their low-carb menu which is why My Muscle Chef aren’t higher up on this list.
If you need some meals to store in the fridge/freezer that still pack a punch with 45+ grams of protein, My Muscle Chef is perfect for you.
My Muscle Chef also have a range of breakfasts, soups, sides, shakes and cookies that contain <20g of carbohydrates. Again, they’re not perfect for a strict ketogenic diet but may be suitable for some people looking for mild ketosis.

Pros
- Deliciously enjoyable meals.
- No subscription lock-in.
- High protein dinners.

Guide to Finding the Best Ketogenic Diets Meal Delivery Service
The right meal delivery service depends heavily on your own circumstances and preferences. We’ve recommended a variety of meal kits, prepared meals and discovery boxes based on our experiences, but you should apply the following criteria before handing over your hard-earned cash:
What level of ketosis do I want to reach?
Ketogenic meals are typically very low in carbohydrates, making up <15% of calories. There are very few meal delivery providers who supply meals with very low/no carbohydrates so you’ll find your options are more limited on a strict ketogenic diet.
If you’re willing to diet with mild ketosis and focus on low-carb dinners (<25g), that will open up your options to more services and meals.
What budget am I eating on?
Meal delivery services are available at many different price points, with the average price being around $10 per meal. If this isn’t within your budget, you’ll need to opt for a lower price service (like YouFoodz) or purchase in bulk to get the per-meal cost down.
Do I normally get bored of eating the same meals?
Some of the services we recommend, like My Muscle Chef and Marley Spoon, have a very limited range of ketogenic meals. These services are likely only an option if you’re willing to purchase multiple serves of the same meal, which can be quite ‘boring’.
In contrast, if variety is important to you, service like Be Fit Food offer a much wider range of ketogenic meals.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best meal delivery service for weight loss?
We tackled this in a separate article, with the best meal delivery services for losing weight. There are many approaches to losing weight, so weight loss services may not be suitable for a ketogenic diet.
Be Fit Food stands out as the service that appears on both lists.
Do any meal kits have a ketogenic plan?
In Australia, we don’t have any meal kits that serve a specific plan designed for a ketogenic diet. However, most services do provide between 4 – 6 low carbohydrate meals each week.
Meal kits are also highly flexible and you can choose the quantities of each ingredient that are used. You can also spread each meal over more portions to reduce the amount of calories per serve.
What is a ketogenic diet?
A ketogenic diet is when a person consumes very minimal carbohydrates, with carbohydrates replaced by proteins and fats. This is designed to push the state into an energy-consuming state (ketosis) where the only energy source is from fats stored in the body.
Ketogenic diets can be quite tough as people often report being lethargic and suffering from sleep issues.
What’s the Best Ketogenic Diet Meal Delivery Service in Australia?
We highly recommend trying the Be Fit Food service as a holistic dieting solution. They’ll send breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks so you don’t have to worry about managing your diet. Just eat what’s sent to you.
Most of their meals are very low in carbohydrates and will do an effective job of pushing your body into ketosis. This is especially useful for anyone who is just starting on their ketogenic journey.
